KOGENERACJA S.A. specialises in the combined generation of heat and power, a technology that contributes to more efficient utilisation of the chemical energy of fuel and thereby to reduced environmental pollution. The Company pursues its core business in compliance with the principles of sustainable development, an approach that ensures satisfactory economic performance without compromising its social and environmental responsibilities.

The low emission, harmful to health, generated during the combustion of fossil fuels and wastes in low-efficiency privates furnaces, constitutes the current problem of big cities. KOGENERACJA S.A. as part of action aiming at reducing the so-called low emission has signed with Wrocław authorities and heat distribution – Fortum – the trilateral Agreement on Partnership for Sustainable Development.

KOGENERACJA S.A. participates actively in the KAWKA project conducted by Wrocław City and within this project, together with the heat distributor, helps to housing cooperatives and housing associations in the process of connecting the buildings to the heating network. The learning part about the heat network connection possibilities is also planned within project.

In January 2016 at EC Wrocław the installations of flue-gas desulfurization and reduction of nitric oxide emissions were started-up. It had the positive impact on improving the air quality in the city as these installations are reducing the sulphur oxide emissions fivefold and nitrogen oxide emissions threefold. EC Zielona Góra S.A. generates the heat and electricity on gas fuel basis what limited the emissions.
